Sodium Chloride Injection, USP 0.9%, also known as Saline solution, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, aqueous preparation of sodium chloride. It is indicated for injection to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in clients. This equal concentration preparation has a pH of around 6.5-7.5, and its osmolarity is approximately 290 milliosmoles per liter (mOsm/L).

Mannitol Injection, USP 20%, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of mannitol. It is administered intramuscularly to increase urine output . The solution is hyperosmotic and exerts its effects by drawing water from the intracellular space into the vascular space. This elevates plasma osmolality, which in turn reduces edema formation.
